Volleyball in full swing in Henry County

The school year opens next week, but practices will also hit full gear for all fall sports. The volleyball season in Henry County opens Aug. 16 with several matches. Eagle’s Landing Christian’s Lady Chargers made the deepest run in the playoffs of any team in the county last season and seem poised to make another run at a title.

Tucker (AAAA) and Eagle’s Landing Christian (A) took the top spots in the other classes ahead of defending champs Chattahoochee and Clinch County. All five preseason No. 1 teams were from metro Atlanta for the first time since 1969, when the Atlanta Constitution first compiled preseason rankings.
