ACSI Math Olympics
This year’s ACSI Math Olympics was hosted at Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on
Friday, March 9, 2012. Students in grades 3-8 are eligible to participate in the ACSI Math Olympics. Each school enters three students to compete in the area of computation and three students in the reasoning category from each grade. In order to qualify for the Math Olympics, students took two timed grade-level tests in the areas of Arithmetic Computation and Mathematical Reasoning. The scores from these tests along with the students’ math grades were used to determine which students qualified for the Olympics.
The objectives of the ACSI Math Olympics are as follows:
to stimulate an interest in mathematics
to recognize the achievements of students in mathematics
to provide an opportunity to meet and fellowship with other
mathematics-oriented students
to offer students an opportunity to glorify God in the use of
their mathematical abilities beyond the classroom
The ACSI Math Olympics is a series of timed tests or rounds. All students took four tests with each test lasting 11 minutes. There were a total of eight schools that participated in the Olympics.
