Ebola and Enterovirus-D68
In response to recent media reports regarding Ebola and EV-D68, we want to remind our parents and students of our preparedness strategies in dealing with the threat of contagions on our campus. ELCA submits to the recommendations and guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the matters of infectious illnesses. As of this time, the CDC has not recommended any supplementary actions in the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases and viruses other than protocols that are already in place. ELCA's Director of Operations is fully aware of the protocols concerning cleaning and disinfecting and ensures that these procedures are carried out. We also maintain communication with authorities and remain vigilant to ensure compliance when recommendations change.
We encourage parents and students to continue to follow the guidelines below, which are the best way to prevent the spread of illness.
Below are some links from the CDC to offer more information regarding flu viruses in general as well as Ebola and EV-D68 in particular:
We encourage you to have a discussion with your child if he/she has concerns about Ebola and/or EV-D68.
Please contact ELCA with any questions or concerns at email@example.com.
